If you have ever shopped around for car insurance you'll know that the market is highly competitive with more than 100 insurers to choose from. However, when it comes to finding car insurance for rally cars or classic vehicles you may find that your options are more limited if you want a policy that truly reflects your needs.

Nuit Blanche Rally 2010
Written by Ewan Leeming
The Nuit Blanche navigational rally’s rebirth on the Saturday 27th March did not disappoint or break with tradition and proved to be an exciting yet tense and enjoyable yet tough event that was won by John Clark and Steve Turnbull.
Turnbull almost succeeded in navigated Clark to a clean-sweep victory until they pulled into the final time control of the night just two minutes late. Nevertheless, this incredible result put the winners a full thirteen points ahead of second placed crew and former EUMSC lifers Dave Brown and Joel Haylock who comfortably held their place despite a formidable challenge from third place men and fellow alumni Euan Brodie and Oly McCollum.
The fight for third place was a close one with only four points separating three contenders. In the end Brodie and McCollum triumphed ahead of Tynesiders Andy Whittaker and Charlie Tynan, and Border Eccose challengers Monty Pearson and Colin Richardson.
Just as the Formula 1 Season was kicking-off, the Edinburgh
University Motorsport Club Karting Championship was coming to an end. After six
rounds and over ninety drivers taking part, the title was still in the balance
as six drivers still mathematically had a chance of taking the honour of Club
Champion. Last years Champion Calum Hughes had recently assumed control on top
of the leaderboard, but with Pierre Nicolet, Richard Crozier and Scott Douglas
still in hot pursuit there was a slim chance that he could still lose it.
The final round was being held at Raceland’s outdoor
circuit, meaning faster karts, a longer circuit with a minute long lap time,
and plenty of opportunities to over take. The first heat got underway and with
Douglas on pole he soon took a commanding lead and on the way to victory set
what would be the fastest lap of the whole race with a 1:00.752, three tenths
faster than anyone else on the day. Behind him though Hughes, Ross McAuley and
Vicki Rutherford used their experience to rocket up the order to finish second,
third and fourth respectively.
Douglas also won the
second heat by a mammoth distance as he
came from the middle of the pack. Behind him, after a bit of contact
with
previous race winner Eren Ozdogan, Kirsten Dallas finished an impressive
third
ahead of Callum Thompson and Nick Osbourne.

On the 6th of March the first ever Public Transport Scatter took place, with three teams scurrying around Edinburgh in order to find as many clues as possible
It required pin-point timing, shrewd tactics (perhaps some underhand ones!), and some fleet footwork to catch the last minute bus but the event was a great success. Full details of the days events will appear here shortly.
