On Wednesday 11th of November, the EUMSC conducted it's first ever 'Teransport Challenge', a complete rip-off of Top Gear's infamous race across London in different types of transport. Starting at 4:30pm at IKEA in Straiton, and stopping by Waverly Station, the winner was the first person to have received their drink and be sitting down in the Starbuck's at Ocean Terminal. The contestants were: THE CYCLIST: Matt Holland on his racing bike will be zooming across Edinburgh, able to weave between traffic he should be in good stead. THE CAR: Piloted by Wojciech Koziel, his insane driving will see him making the most of every opportunity, however, fall foul of severe traffic. THE BUS: Richard Crozier (in full Stig outfit) will be taking Edinburgh's finest Lothian Bus through town, will Bus Lanes be enough to secure him the win? THE WALKER: Leslie Mabon, accompanied by Scott, took the bus into the centre of town before walking from the centre of town down Leith walk. With the tram-works going on, this might not be such a crazy idea... The result was a brilliant and improbable victory for the cyclist, Matt Holland, followed closely by the car. Then, about 20 minutes later, Leslie and Scott arrived, to be followed by Richard in his full Stig outfit. A great and eventful race, a full report will be on the website soon, so watch this space! |
